lyrics

There is this feeling weighing heavy in the air
We’ve been choking on its stagnancy for decades
It’s time to sever ties and choose a better path
One with far less senseless entropy and a cleaner criminal track

We’ve held this trouble for a long time and it’s growing old
I think we’re better off if we desert you
These endless eggshells are tumultuous and all of this
Is leading to one big, pathetic breakdown

The hurricane is forming, someone fetch a paper cup
It seems a fitting tool to hold an ocean
Maybe we’ve put our problems off for far too long
Eventually they’ll have to go away...right?

There is no hindsight
There’s never been a lesson learned
Just the same old cycle, consume until the well dries
The gardens tended, I’m pulling weeds until my back is sore
The pain shooting up my spine and collecting in my head

The garbage piles up until it overflows
The apple falls from the tree, resenting the tree it's fallen from
These withered husks, they've been shattered by the touch
Your vampiric nature rearing its ugly face again

A resolution is never reached, ultimatums never set
So when the room is vacant it’s obvious what comes next
A short stint of dramatic highs then a sudden valley
Followed by another one, then another one and another one
...and on, and on it goes
